My Heart, My Heart

Live Poetry Jukebox

Adie Mueller and Trui Malten developed My Heart, My Heart: Live Poetry Jukebox collaboratively from 2017 onwards. The project has since been performed in festivals and venues all over the UK to great audience acclaim. Adie and Trui met at Cambridge Junction as-part of Troop, Cambridge Junction’s Artist Development scheme and are grateful for the initial support and encouragement they’ve received from the venue. 

Trui Malten is an international set and lighting designer. She designed the lights for more than 140 productions around the world. In Spain she lit the opera Peter Grimes at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, directed by Willy Decker (2018). In April 2019 she premiered Nora, a new piece for English National Ballet, choreographed by Stina Quagebeur. This was her second collaboration with Stina, for whom she also designed ENB’s Vera. Her most recent theatre productions are: I Will Be Everything, an EU Creative Europe programme, which will tour 7 countries in 2019/20; Snow Whiteand Beauty and the Beast, for New International Encounter; The Ladder, the last part in a trilogy by Shon Dale-Jones, Hoipolloi. In May 2019. She also designed the lights for performance artist Caroline Wright’s piece: Breath Control, at the Coronet in London in 2019. Trui designed and build the set for For Only When It’s Feathers Are Grown, a performance/exhibition project written and directed by Lucy Crow of Fly No Filter (2019).

Adie Mueller is an actress and theatre maker interested in exploring the relationship between text and performance and the performer and the audience. Adie trained in the Suzuki Actors’ Training method with Ozfrank and in Viewpoints with Anne Bogart and the SITI company. She created Sandman, a contemporary adaptation of ETA Hoffmann’s story ‘The Sandman’ for a solo performer, which she toured from 2015 to 2018. Adie works as part-time lecturer in Theatre at Middlesex University under her ‘real’ name Antje Diedrich.
